FAQs

What is upcycled fashion?

Upcycled fashion involves creatively reusing existing materials and garments to create new, one-of-a-kind pieces, reducing textile waste and promoting sustainability.

Where do you source your materials?

I source my fabric from local op-shops on the mid-north coast of NSW and from further afield when I’m visiting family in Denmark. I also use designer deadstock fabric in my designs and end-of-line materials from sustainable textile suppliers in Australia. Occasionally, you might notice a small stain or mark on a piece - I see these as part of the fabric’s story, adding character and a sense of history to each creation.

How do I care for my upcycled garment?

Each piece is made from pre-loved materials, so I recommend gentle care to preserve its quality and longevity.

  • Washing in cold water on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent
  • Air drying flat or on a hanger (avoid tumble dryers)
  • Avoid bleach or other harsh chemicals
  • Low to medium heat for ironing

What if my item gets damaged or needs repair?

Sustainability includes longevity. If your garment needs minor repairs (like stitching or button replacement), I encourage mending it at home—or feel free to reach out. I may offer repair advice or services on a case-by-case basis, depending on the issue.

How does upcycling help reduce textile waste?

Upcycling gives new life to textiles, tablecloth and garments that would otherwise end up in landfills. By transforming pre-existing materials into one-of-a-kind pieces, I’m able to reduce the demand for new fabric production, lower textile waste, and extend the lifespan of tablecloths.

How do you determine the pricing of my upcycled pieces?

Each piece is priced based on a combination of factors, including the time and craftsmanship involved, the uniqueness of the design, and the quality and rarity of the materials used. Because every item is individually made and o two are exactly alike, the pricing reflects both the creative process and the value of sustainable, small-scale production.
