Upcycling and slowstitch workshops

Bring Slow Stitching to Your Community

Are you interested in hosting a creative workshop focused on upcycling, textile reuse and slow stitching?

I can offer a number of different workshops or happy to tailor a one off:

Begin your own Slowstitch Journal

Learn basic hand-sewing and slow stitch techniques while creating your own textile journal from reclaimed fabrics and found materials. This mindful workshop invites participants to slow down, experiment creatively, and enjoy the calming rhythm of stitching by hand. Leave with your Slow stitch journal kit to continue your creative journey at home. You can also buy a Slowstitch Journal kit and begin your own at home.

Create a hand-stitched tote using reclaimed fabric strips

Join us for a hands-on sewing workshop where creativity meets sustainability. In this beginner-friendly session, you’ll design and make your own reusable tote bag using a curated selection of rescued and repurposed fabric strips. Learn simple sewing and assembling techniques while exploring ways to give leftover textiles a second life.

Whether you’re new to sewing or already love working with fabric, this workshop is a relaxed space to experiment, create, and leave with a one-of-a-kind tote that’s both practical and personal.

Workshops can be tailored to suit different groups, ages and skill levels — from beginners exploring upcycling for the first time to more experienced makers looking to develop their creative practice.

I can bring the workshop to your community, school, library, creative space, event or organisation.

Interested in hosting a workshop? Send an email to hello@slowstitch.au and we can discuss how we can create a workshop to suit your group.
